Facebook Starts Roll out of Click-to-WhatsApp Messaging Button

Popular social network—Facebook is rolling out a new feature after several months of testing, and it's dubbed ' click-to-WhatsApp .' It comes in form of a new messaging button which is useful to advertisers on Facebook, as it enables them to communicate with customers by creating a link between the two platforms.

WhatsApp is an instant messenger owned by Facebook with over one billion active daily users. Also, over a million FB pages currently include WhatsApp numbers on their Page and posts, so, linking both platforms will boost interactions.

Just like the click-to-Messenger button that Facebook introduced in its ads in November last year, the new click-to-WhatsApp button will allow advertisers add a button on their ads so that people can call or message via WhatsApp with the click of a button.

According to Facebook Product Marketing Manager, Pancham Gajjar:
"Many people already use WhatsApp to communicate with small businesses. It's a fast, convenient way to stay in touch. By adding a click-to-WhatsApp button to Facebook ads, businesses can now make it even easier for people to learn about their products, set up an appointment or use their service."
The Click-to-WhatsApp feature for Facebook ads is slowly rolling out, headed by North and South America, Africa, Australia and most of Asia. Europe is not included in the list because her regulators have issues with WhatsApp over data sharing with Facebook.
