Being able to mute a video before sharing or uploading it to your contacts/status is a cool feature that every user craves, WhatsApp beta has made this even easier.
Before now, If you wanted to share a video with someone but you need to get rid of the audio for any reason then you need to make use of an online tool like Google Photos, Instagram, or other gallery apps which can be space and time-consuming.
WhatsApp beta v2.21.3.13 now has a small speaker icon attached below the video duration on the edit screen. All you have to do is toggle it off to mute the video as you send it across to users.
It’s quite easy to use.
This mute button will appear irrespective of the app you used in recording the video either within WhatsApp or not. So if you’re sharing a video from another source or it’s the one you’ve taken with your phone’s camera; you can still remove the sound.
According to WABetaInfo, this option may be available for users using the previous version of the app but it’s advisory that you get upgraded to the latest version to be sure.
Simply update your WhatsApp app to enjoy the feature.
However, if you’re already signed up for the beta program through the Play Store, the update should have been rolled out to you already.
With high hopes, we’re expecting this feature to hit the normal version of WhatsApp in one month.
